This is a easy DIY (Do-It-Yourself) project I came up with on a rainy day while babysitting my friends children. Its a homemade cat / rabbit / hamster toy, built from simple items found around the house. The project takes about 5 minutes from start to finish, and is fun for children that enjoy being creative.

Items you will need:

*Hammer,
*Measuring tape,
*A pair of scissors,
*A nail,
*A roll of string,
*About 3 or 4 soda bottle caps.

Step 1:
Take your measuring tape and measure about 36" of string and cut it with the scissors.

Step 2:  (adults only)
Take the bottle caps and place them flat on a strong surface.  Use a hammer and tap the nail through the middle part of each bottle cap,  remove the nail,  leaving a nice sized hole big enough to fit the string through,  if hole isn't big enough adapt the size of the hole using the scissors.

 Step 3:
Now feed string through the holes in the bottle caps, leaving a little length of string at the end.

Step 4:
Now you need to double knot the string so the bottle caps can't come off at that end. "especially while animals are playing with it."

Step 5:  (optional)
This step is optional. I leave it up to you, especially if you want to get more creative and add a small bell or somthing else on the end of the string, If not, you can trim the end of the string to fit inside the cap.

Step 6:
Now your all finished.
I hope you enjoyed this basic diy project.
